  1. WE WILL always work, train, and play as a team.
  2. WE WILL be defined by our effort, heart, and hustle as a team.
  3. WE WILL be solid, strong, and smart defenders.
  4. WE WILL be dangerous, creative, and confident attackers.
  5. WE WILL communicate constantly and positively in all situations.
  6. WE WILL exhibit respect and good sportsmanship at all times.
  7. WE WILL challenge every goal kick, punt, long ball, corner kick, or 50-50 ball.
  8. WE WILL be creative, dynamic, and active in our positioning and movement.

In the attacking third, as a team, WE WILL . . .

  • Win the hustle play, challenge every ball in air, and battle for all 50-50s and loose balls.
  • Attack aggressively, quickly, and with confidence. We want to create chaos and take chances.
  • Move constantly to create space, give support, and take chances. We will be dynamic in our movement.
  • Shoot low and to the far post within the 18. We will aggressively follow all shots.
  • Get to the baseline and make low crosses on the ground when attacking from wings.
  • Be selfish and creative when we have the chance to score.
  • Be unselfish and supportive when our teammate has the chance score.
  • Pressure the ball immediately to win it back at the moment of lost possession. Work for 7 yards to save 70 yards.

In the middle third, as a team, WE WILL . . .

  • Look for penetrating passes or the longest pass while maintaining possession.
  • Pressure the ball immediately to win it back at the moment of lost possession. Work for 7 yards to save 70 yards.
  • Move constantly to create space, give support, and take chances. We will be dynamic in our movement.
  • Play quickly to maintain positive possession and control.
  • Penetrate with the dribble only when space is available.

In the defensive third, as a team, WE WILL . . .

  • Win every tackle, make the hustle play, challenge every ball in air, and battle for all 50-50s and loose balls.
  • Play with a maximum of 3 touches unless space to penetrate is available. We will not get stuck in possession.
  • Communicate constantly and clearly with our teammates.
  • Immediately mark in man-to-man coverage unless directed otherwise.
  • Contain and avoid fouls.
  • Utilize the 4 D’s of defense.
  1. Delay the player and slow them down to help the team get organized, back into position, and double when possible.
  2. Deny the player time and space to make it harder to advance.
  3. Deflect any shots, crosses, or dangerous passes at all costs. We will put our bodies on the line for the team.
  4. Defend is last step and that is to tackle the ball. Slow the play down, deny space and time, deflect their options when needed, but stay balanced and on your feet to make a tackle when available only on a long touch or when help arrives.

As goalkeepers, WE WILL . . .

  • Call loudly for the ball and win it when called.
  • Constantly communicate with to all players. We will stay engaged and focused.
  • Always look for the quick counter–preferably with the long ball. When it’s not available, we will be patient and have the team step up.
  • Quickly organize on set pieces. We will be direct and authoritative using names and directions.
  • Be aware of the game situation, which may require slowing down, speeding up, supporting, and being an option for drop.
  • Play confidently and decisively with feet.
